The mushroom life cycle will take place within the included plastic liner, which can and should be disposed after harvest. The chamber consists of (6) 1.5” holes drilled around the top of the chamber which are covered with micropore tape on the interior and duct tape on the exterior. Once your tray is fully colonized and it is ready for FAE, the duct tape can simply be removed and breathable micropore tape will be in place; to further prevent potential contaminants from entering the chamber and also allowing the chamber to breathe. Behind the duct tape we place a non-sticky paper separator so that the duct tape does not stick to the Micropore tape upon removal.
There are also 1/4” holes drilled around the lower portion of the chamber just above where the liner sits, 5 holes on the long sides and 3 on the short sides; each covered with a with synthetic filter disks. Beyond the first grow, the filter discs can be left in place or easily replaced with Micropore tape for the same effect.
This is a straight and to the point chamber, we wanted to stick with a classic design that has proven success, our MonoTub 3.0 is just that.
